Being thankful is a sign that you are a student who expresses gratitude. Gratefulness is “showing appreciation for what I have.” This means recognizing (seeing) what others have done for you and showing your gratitude. This kind of positive and thankful attitude makes someone pleasant to be with—especially compared to an ungrateful person who takes things for granted. No matter what your circumstance, you can always find something to be grateful for—if you look for it!
You can express gratitude toward...
Your family, for all they do for you and how lucky you are to have them
Your friends, who you can enjoy being with, and bring happiness to your life
Your own special talents, maybe your athletic ability, your ability to sing, your ability to be a good reader, everyone has their own special talents that they should be thankful for.
All the things at school you are thankful for. Your teacher's help you to learn, the books and supplies you have at school, think of other things at school you are thankful for. Maybe you want to personally thank your teachers for helping you to learn. When you are an adult you will realize, that it was your teachers who taught you how to read and write to become whatever you choose to be when you grow up.
Finally, Saying thank you is a polite thing to do, and as you know it shows good character. Let another person know that you appreciate what they have done for you. Practice saying the words thank you in as many different ways as you can think. Perhaps maybe you want to write a poem or note to someone you want to thank. Remember kind words go a long way.
